ALEXEY POZDNYAKOV WINS FIRST PLACE AT IIDA SOCAL DESIGN CHARRETTE

SPIGOLO founder Alexey Pozdnyakov was a member of the first-place team at the 2025 IIDA Southern California Student Design Charrette, an intensive one-day interior design competition bringing together students from design programs across Southern California.

Hosted at LPA Design Studios in Irvine, the competition placed students into interdisciplinary teams and challenged them to develop and present a design proposal within a single day. Projects were evaluated by a panel of industry professionals on creativity, execution of program requirements, quality and craft, teamwork, graphic presentation and verbal presentation.

Pozdnyakov represented California State University, Northridge and worked alongside Nicole S. Taro of Design Institute of San Diego, Sunny Chang of Mt. San Antonio College, Brenna Gilligan of California State University, Long Beach, and Tina Le of Saddleback College. Their team received

First Place and a $10,000 team award.

The winning team was subsequently recognized at the 2025 Calibre Design Awards, IIDA Southern California's annual celebration of excellence in commercial interior design.
